Doris Duan-Young was recommended to be the Honorary Consul for the People's Republic of China by former Orange County Mayor Richard Crotty, Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. Ms. Duan-Young visited the Chinese Embassy with the purpose of inviting the Chinese Ambassador to come visit Orlando, FL.

Doris Duan-Young was recognized as the informal Ambassador to the People's Republic of China in May of 2010. Doris Duan-Young and her husband Samuel Young visited Shanghai to make arrangements for the Mayor of Orange County to meet with both government and business leaders to provide an opportunity to strengthen relations between Shanghai and Orange County, Florida. |
